How does P2P Trading work

P2P trading on LinxOTC is being directly executed as a so called 'atomic swap'.

This means there is no contract or pool involved, but it is handled similar as a 'regular' transfer.

You determine from what account what token is send and from what account a token is requested. The transaction will only be successful if:

  • The sender signed the transaction

  • The counterparty signed the transaction

  • The balance of both parties is high enough for the selected token in the trade

Nothing can be altered in the generated transaction and if any of the above is false, the transaction will fail or can't be signed.

If you for example sent a link to a wrong person by accident, there is no way for this person to sign the transaction if he does not have a wallet with the address of the counterparty.
